How To Boost Your Views On YouTube

Blog How to boost YouTube views

Most marine businesses are using a website and social media pages to reach and engage with their target market and audiences. However, few are utilising YouTube which happens to be the SECOND BIGGEST WEBSITE IN THE WORLD! It is also the second-largest search engine after Google. It makes sense to use it then surely? Read our blog How YouTube can help your business If you are still not convinced.

I am not suggesting it is an easy channel to master but if you take the time to optimise your channel and your videos you can reap the rewards. If you are new to YouTube or want to improve your channel take the time to optimise your YouTube channel.

So let's assume you have optimised your YouTube channel and are ready to start sharing some great content. How do you boost your views?

Create great content

Unique content is great but it is not always easy to come up with the ideas - use your team and/or your customers to brainstorm ideas and list all your content ideas.

  • Videos that answer questions i.e your FAQs
  • Testimonials from your customers
  • Solutions - solve your customers problems by showing them how to do something
  • Humanise your business - use your team to talk about your products or demonstrate the use of them.
  • Client-generated content - simply the best, encourage it by sponsoring influencers, running competitions, awards, or just by simply sharing.

Make a series

Break up your content into steps that flow - make a series of videos so that once someone has watched one they will want to go on and watch the next in the series.

Create a great video title

The title matters. Consider what your audience might be searching for to find your video. If you want to rank for a keyword, make sure it is in the title. For example if you are trying to reach catamaran owners with our video you might want your title to start with Why catamaran owners...

create a thumbnail

If you are lucky enough to have your video show up in the search results either in YouTube or Google, you will want people to take the next step and view your video. It is therefore vital that you create a thumbnail that grabs their attention.

Create an End Screen

End screens can be created easily in YouTube - they direct the viewer to the next video or playlist that you want them to watch and can encourage subscribing to your channel. Subscribers are notified when you upload a new video to YouTube so encourage more views.

Share on your other social channels

Use your other social channels and your website to share your video. If you have a mailing list tell them about your new video. Always ensure your YouTube Channel link on your website and email signature is working and keep reminding your audiences everywhere of the great content you are sharing on YouTube.

The tips given above are not a definite list of how to boost your views but they are probably the easiest to implement. At SPC Marine Marketing we delve much deeper when we manage YouTube channels for our clients. We also use paid techniques to boost views, gain subscribers and engage with highly targeted audiences.
