Social Media Marketing tips for 2020
As a digital media marketing agency, we have seen huge changes over the last few years. Each year algorithms change. We would like to give our social media marketing tips for 2020.
Social Media continues to grow but the channels are evolving. As users, we have changed how we relate to the content pushed out daily.
In 2020 we can expect to see a continuous decline in reach on Facebook, Instagram, and Linkedin. As their algorithms change. These channels had to act to combat the information overload we all experience. They also want to make money through advertising.
The youth are turning away from Facebook and Instagram. But 68% of adult social media users are on Facebook. Instagram has been the platform for the young, but more than 40% of 30-49-year-olds now use Instagram. Despite the decline in reach, these platforms are still the best places to increase your brand awareness in a B2C world.
Twitter has algorithms to show you ‘ranked tweets’ and ‘in case you missed it tweets’. But the remaining tweets are ALL shown in reverse-chronological order.
Improve your brand awareness in 2020...
- Create more bite-size video educational content that gives value to your audiences.
- Twitter still functions as a social platform for either B2C or B2B. Spacing Tweets out during the day will give your Tweets a greater chance of reach.
- Make sure you are writing for voice activation searches.
-
Live video at least once a month. Then share this live video again - it will receive a greater reach than non-live video.
- If you do not use Instagram, consider starting to use it.
- Humanise your company more than you already have. The human stories will sell more than paid influencers.
