Gain More Twitter Followers

There is absolutely no point you spending time tweeting, retweeting and checking your twitter notifications if you are not actively trying to build a following from potential clients, existing clients, and influencers. It is time-consuming and can detract from your day to day business activities if you let it.

Gaining a targeted following should be part of your Twitter strategy, if not you might as well stop posting now.

Tips to growing followers...

  • Let your followers on your other channels know you have a Twitter page. Give them the link regularly in posts. Likewise, share your other channels with your Twitter followers. My posts read something like... 'We love to be social and have some great content on our Facebook page, please follow us there too... add link'

  • Social media is about providing value to your followers. Give them varied content to diversify your feed. Share posts of interest from other sites. These sites might return the favour and your reach will, therefore, increase which should encourage new followers.

  • Connect with complementary businesses. Not your competition but companies that are providing products or services which would interest your market and audience.

  • Use hashtags which are trending. Hashtags that are vague such as #summer are not worth the effort. If you can find trending hashtags which are relevant to that tweet, you will get increased exposure.

  • Like and comment on relevant industry tweets can get you noticed and result in people taking a look at your business profile. Hopefully, this will result in increased follows.

  • Follow people who you would like to follow you. This does not always work and I would not recommend following large numbers of people. However, if someone has liked a post of yours which was retweeted by someone else, I would consider following them.

  • Post consistently. Infrequent posts will ensure people lose interest in your channel very quickly. Post daily at least once. I recommend to my clients four times a day.

I know this all sounds very time-consuming but it will pay off. Alternatively, you can outsource your Twitter management to us at SPC Marine Marketing
