What to post on your Facebook Page: Ten ideas to keep your content varied
Everyone can use Facebook right? There’s going to be someone in your office who is always on their social media and therefore will be keen to manage your social media pages. But do they know what to post on your Facebook Page?
At SPC Marine Marketing this is what we do for our clients and we hope to share with you some tips so you and your team can do it yourself.
What to Post on Your Facebook Page
- Branded Graphics - Keep to your brand guidelines but you don’t have to be heavy on the branding for every post and you do not have to keep to the same style for each graphic. If all your graphics are branded the same it is more likely that they will be passed over in your newsfeed. Keep to the fonts and colours schemes but don’t be afraid to use different styles and shades to make each graphic look unique.
- What’s Trending posts - Create content around what is trending right now! Ask questions, use trending hashtags, create world day posts, and create engaging posts around the trending topics.
- Events - Are you attending any shows, are you speaking at any conferences, do you feel any international or local events would be of interest to your audiences?
- Ask Questions - encourage people to leave a comment. They can be fun or scholarly-type questions depending on your audience.
- Video - keep it short and snappy as most people will be watching your video whilst travelling to and from work or in their coffee break. They are more likely to watch it to the end if it is short. Avoid long introductions and heavily branded starts. Get straight to the point. Twenty seconds to 2 minutes in length ideally.
- Testimonials - whenever anyone gives your product or service a great review, tell your audiences. Your potential customers are more likely to believe your customers than they are you. Even better if you can get photos to back up the testimonial.
- Behind the Scenes - showcase your team, your product development, service development and what your employees are up to. For example on World Ocean Day is any of your team doing a beach clean? If so, create content around this.
- Infographics - most people enjoy facts and figures and most businesses have some to share. Put your stats into a graphic, add your branding, get creative and share.
- Share content from your industry peers, ambassadors and media. Add your comments and connect your brand to the article if you can.
- Stories - storytelling is a great way to engage with your customers and potential customers. Keep your stories relevant to your brand and use employees and customers to create your story. For example is your vessel being used for a major environmental study? Is one of your employees studying to obtain a relevant qualification that will help them in their workplace? Follow the story and share regular updates with your customers.
So now you have some ideas on the type of content to post on your Facebook Page, you just need to be consistent. Make sure you post regularly with a variety of different content. Create a schedule and plan ahead. Don’t be afraid to reuse your content. If you have created graphics and videos of your products use them again. Not everyone will see them the first time you post them.
